Web developers: when you say, “your browser does not support this site,” what you REALLY mean is that YOU don’t support the browser. Don’t turn it around on the user because you chose not to stick to well-supported standards, or worse, are doing user agent sniffing.
If you truly use some feature shipped by one browser and not everyone, at least say, “We use x standard feature, which is unsupported in this browser.” But even then, the web is all about progressive enhancement.
PSA, if someone asks you for contact info (e.g. a phone number) of someone you know, the correct response is "I can't give that to you, but I can give them yours".
It's efficient and adds no round-trips, it's privacy friendly, it's non-awkward and it's social engineering resistant. It's a universally good rule.
And the corollary, of course: Don't ask someone for another person's contact info - ask them to pass on yours.
This fediverse stuff is kinda funny for me.
1. it does not makes me angry at any time
2. i don`t feel guilty if i not check app/timeline/whatever (no fomo)
3. i can get here for five minutes, spend just that five and get out..
and in this five minutes i can read some nice and productive stuff
4. oh and it keeps me in touch but not forcing to checking anything that i reaaly dont like in meantime
5. allows me to push that note, not making it in thread 🧵88/102 ;-)
Ok, dog time!
Yesterday I lost my watch in the grass and couldn't find it. Today in the morning I went there again before it was beeping and I found it. Have a good day, people. Mine already is.

"Hey Dan, What processes need to change to enable contributions to pixelfed?"
This is a recent DM I recieved, and it struck a chord.
I'm so used to working alone, and I realize that isn't healthy.
The state of our documentation is sad, and I need to fix this.
I'm going to move the docs to the pixelfed repo to be able to more easily update them, and the docs site will be updated to pull in the markdown files after each merge/build.
